What’s the worst piece of advice you’ve ever received?

My dad told me when I got my license at 17 that when I drink and drive to put the cars tire on the line and follow it. He didn’t say don’t drive drunk. He gave me possibly the worst drunk driving advice I ever heard, and a sure fire way to get pulled over. Telling me to hug the line which 100% would have led to me crossing it back and forth as I tried to follow it and getting pulled over. I did not take his advice.

You guys ever have a girl tell you to cum inside of her without saying if she's on the pill?

I mean...i always assumed that means she is, but ya never know.
I would assume the exact opposite tobehonestwitchya. It’s tough enough to trust them when they say they are on the pill. I have highly demanded seed because I’m a handsome young man.

Probably not the worst advice I've ever received, but it still pops into my head and pisses me off. One time my buddy, his kid (who was being a whiny little bitch) and I were in the middle of nowhere and my truck kept overheating. I turned the heat on (because that's what you do in that situation) and he kept fucking arguing with me that I should have the air on instead (which is wrong) even after I explained that the heater pulls the heat away from the engine. He was like "when my car was overheating my step-dad told me to keep the AC turned up" and I was like "Yeah well your step-dad is a newfie retard and he doesn't know fuck all about anything." It's the only time I've ever lost my shit on one of my friends in front of their kids. We almost fist fought over it. To this day the dumb fuck thinks that he's right and I honestly want to crack him in the fucking face every time I think about it.

Go to college.

Not even using my degree and got loans to pay off. I think about all the money and things I could've been doing during the time in school doing something more productive.
Even if college might make sense for you, there's a lot of shitty advice about what major or studies to pursue. "Follow your strengths" and "follow your passions are regurgitated constantly, but what if your strengths and passions don't meet the demands of the job market? I studied poli sci for what it's worth, and there's no way I'd recommend it some middle class high school grad (with some exceptions).

In general, boomers are fucking awful about giving higher ed or career advice.

A problem shared is a problem halved.

Talking about your problems is only good advice if it's a funny problem and you're making your friends laugh, or you're trying to get advice\support from someone who knows what they're talking about, i.e. a doctor\lawyer\therapist.

Talking about problems with women is always bad. Sharing them on the internet just attracts other weirdos. Telling your parents is even worse. If you telling your co-workers you may as well publish them in a newsletter.
