What's the first sign you can remember that TV/Movies were going down the shitter?

We've been tawkin' and tawkin' and tawkin' about shitty movies forever but can anyone put a finger on one that stood out as a real signifier that things were going south? Either that or the last great high watermark before a good TV show or movie became a rare thing. Can't even really nail down a year or time period when it started. Or was it always like this and it's us that are less gay than we are now (edit - or were then, stupid. YOU'RE FIRED!!!), maaaaaaan?

We'll hang up and listen

Any movie hyping that old jew bag Merle Streep, I think they made 5 of them about traveling pants.

I hate Jewey Slate's look and voice but for cable they would run the commercial for "broke girls" or some dumb shit but it was at that time I stopped with cable and just watch gay old JCVD
movies.

Probably not what you're asking but I thought "reality" TV was a sign the Jews were getting really unbridled. Couldn't believe the newest form of entertainment was having your untalented faggot child globally humiliated by some homosexual British Kike while an audience of goyim soccer mom cunts obediently clapped along. The Learning Channel going from showing surgeries to gawking at morbidly fat people. Not that I don't hate fat people, but still.

The early 2000s were the end of whatever was left of morality in entertainment.

You got to admit though, the very first reality show was cool as fuck: Cops.

Once television shows went away from having full theme song openings that either introduced the basic premise of the show, or gave you an idea of the cast with a highlight reel.

Home Improvement might have been the last solid show opening.

When marvel and DC started shitting out 867 superhero movies a piece every year. That's the exact moment that I knew that cinema was dead with a few rare exceptions.
This is it for me too. I've didn't even give a shit about superhero movies when I was a kid and then all of the sudden fucking adults were lapping that shit up as if that's not weird. I guess that says more about the consumers than the ones making it though. It started with that Transformers movie with Shia Labeouf.

Walking Dead season 2 back in I think 2010. Heroes sucked too. And Lost. And twin peaks season 2. Come to think of it, everything has always been and always will be shit
I tried to watch Walking Dead ONE time. I'd been hearing nothing but amazing things about it and I decided to watch some marathon of it. It was just straight up shit. Gay, soap opera dialogue and delivery. People don't talk like that. It's like Pat wrote it.

AMC and Netflix making original content. Once AMC had the two most popular shows in The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad it was over. Now every single company was rushing to make the same exact franchise dogshit. Walking Dead has ten spinoff shows. Breaking Bad has a spinoff show and a movie. You think Many Saints of Newark gets made without El Camino coming first?

Once HBO was no longer the most popular place for television shows it opened up the floodgates for everyone to make degenerate trash. Amazon, Apple, Paramount, Netflix, and how many other companies are making trash series? Disney has yet to make a profitable Star Wars show but they have a dozen of them that are being mass shilled and promoted on social media.

And now HBO just follows trends and makes goyslop. Every other thing on HBO Max now is reality TV shit. And their "prestige" shows are True Dyketective and Game of Thrones Spinoff.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart refusing to make fun of Obama, after years of picking apart every single thing Bush did

When every single major show nerds talked about was some huge retarded dramatic epic, like Game of Thrones

When they did the big reveal of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and soyboys worldwide went like "The Stormtrooper is BLACK?!?!?!?!??! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?!"
