This would make sense if there was any chance of bumping up the contract. At $110k there just isn't enough room to move up. Sam is retarded enough to genuinely think he can do better.

SXM figures out they’d save more money by not having an unfunny comic have his own show. Little by little, Jim starts loosing gigs, and starts to drink. His drinking starts to really get out of control, to the point where he looses his home, friends, and whatever family he has left. Then one night after spending the last of his money on MadDog 2020, he goes down to the subway, and drunkly stumbles off the platform, and head first on the 3rd rail, frying him to the point where they need to scrap him off with one of those scrapers you’d use to get chewing gum off the ground.
