What was worse? The Matrix 4 or The Many Saints of Newark?

I am not going to see Matrix 4, so I'll say Many Saints. The Matrix series was already ruined by 2 & 3, so 4 can't really lower the franchise by much.

But The Sopranos was mostly perfect. The bad things -- Vito in NH, Tony meeting his dad's goomar, the 2 episode long war with Phil -- never ruined the good parts. But Many Saints took a huge dump on the show. It could have been written by someone who never watched the show, and just read about it on Wikipedia. Detach it from the show, it's an incoherent mess with no story.

The reason Ralph's last name is Cifaretto is because Pantoliano was Cypher in The Matrix.
woah, so like Christopher Moltisanti shooting the kid at the Diner because Imperioli (Spider) was shot on Goodfellas?

I haven't seen Matrix 4 but no way could it be worse than Many Saints. I still can't believe what they shat out and called a movie.
I just saw the computer movie. They're both disgraceful, but I'm probably more disappointed with Many Saints. Probably because I wanted the Sopranos movie to be better more though

In the ending, did he wake up as a tranny with Alabama 3 playing?
The movie ended with a Rage Against the Machine cover from this band (not joking)

They should have done more scenes like that. Buscemi says something like, "gee it's cold out here, reminds me of when I was in FARGO" and then he points and winks at the camera.

And then Tony goes, "whoa, aye, you're actin' like a reservoir dog ovah here"

Matrix is a garbage franchise with one decent but overrated movie. Two sequels were disasters. This movie is coming at a time where people are mostly indifferent to the franchise. Keanu Reeves is the most overrated actor of all time. Wooden robotic chink with no range. His performance in Dracula is one of the worst in history. Norton and company acting out the Virgin Tech shooter's plays were closer to Shakespeare.

Many Saints is the ruining of the legacy of the greatest show of all time. Ruining of David Chase's legacy. An insult to James Gandolfini. And dooming his son to a mediocre career. Ray Liotta will end his career with this horrendous movie as well. It also opens the door to more Sopranos movies and films which will further erode the legacy of the original show.

Neither are good films. But one is part of a dumb action franchise. And the other is basically undoing the legacy of the greatest show ever.

Many Saints was worse. At least this was like a fantasy film with some low budget effects that you're like oh this is silly. Many Saints tried to feel serious.
I thought Matrix 4 was taking itself seriously and rife with messaging. To your point though, I agree that Saints was a bigger letdown

Much like Sopranos was a serious show with comedic elements, Many Saints tried to be the same but stunk. At least Matrix 4, like the first two sequels, can at least be a mindless sci-fi action that tries to be philosophically deep, but you can ignore that if you wish.

Basically, The Matrix's success hinges on its action etc. with The Sopranos franchise, it's the opposite. The Sopranos would have stunk if it had the violence that it did, but a shitty story. That's why Many Saints is a piece of shit.
