He was a runner up in the L Ron Hubbard Future Writers of America contest. Hildy was also a runner up last year, I believe.

Pat exhibits many traits of Scientologists.
Dead eyes, black/white thinking, emotional outbursts...but what stood out to me was his declaration that liberals should literally disown their conservative family members. This is out of the Scientology playbook - they label any "toxic" person in your life as an "S.P.," or Supressive Person, and force you to cut ties with them entirely.

In this framework, an S.P. is defined essentially as anyone in your life who demands that you take accountability for your shortcomings. Scientologists put all their prospective members through an emotionally and psychologically abusive practice called "auditing," in which they force you to relive all your most traumatic moments over and over and over again. It's a perversion of exposure therapy. And through this process, they convince you that all your shortcomings can be attributed to the SP's in your life - and once you cut ties with these toxic people, all you have to do is give whatever money or resources you have to the "Org" and you're "Clear." It's corporate brainwashing.

They create an army of angry lunatics with self-induced Borderline Personality Disorder and turn them loose on any media figures who disparage them. Not unlike how liberal Twitter turns lonely kids into tranny-simping Manchurian Candidates.

Whether or not Pat ever actually dabbled in Scientology, he's a fucking Scientologist.

Say what you want about Scientologists...they rarely have losers with no careers as members.
They have a bunch - they call them "Sea Org" members, make them sign billion year contracts, and pay them pennies an hour to run around as slaves. Pat didn't have the work ethic for it.

Scientology run shit like this to meet celebrities and rich folks early in their careers; to build a relationship and eventually start draining money out of them. Pat had nothing to offer in that regard, either.

Yes, the VAST majority of Scientology members are meth addicts and runaways.

How they ever managed to recruit from Hollywood, top law firms and financial institutions, and PR/media companies to build out their executive branch is a mystery still waiting for a documentary.
I'm pretty sure it's straight up money laundering. Celebs don't actually go through the ranks unless you're like Leah Remini who grew up in it.

They make a generous tax free contribution to the Church and the church kicks back more cash than they would pay the government,

If anyone wants to learn more about Scientology in it's heyday without listening to that whore from the Kevin James show throw herself a pity party on Joe Rogan - "Scientology and Me" by the BBCs John Sweeney is in my opinion the seminal work on the subject and one of the most compelling documentaries I've ever seen.

It's been mostly scrubbed from Youtube, but it's out there. I remember when I saw it in 2007, I was honestly scared for Sweeney. They don't have that kind of power anymore, but it's well worth a viewing. (If you do watch it, keep in mind that the main antagonist of that documentary, then-Scientology "Spokesperson" Tommy Davis, oddly "went missing" for a period of years before reemerging as an obscure hedge fund manager. What happened to him is still debated in dark internet circles, but rumor is he had a falling out with David Miscavige, whose wife has also been "missing" for a decade. (He's the top guy in the Org, and the godfather of Tom Cruise's kids.))

That documentary is actually scarier now than it was then based on what we know happened to the characters since it's release.

Love bombing, brain washing and a bunch of other cult tactics. You do get some gains from the early courses, and they impress upon you over and over that the tech works, and if it fails then it's your fault - and you don't want to fail, do you?

Plus celebrities don't get the rough treatment the Sea Org get; it takes a much softer, gentler touch to get Will Smith to cough up millions for a school run by tards.
