He's gonna stay til that next debate.
My prediction is that him and his inner circle (campaign managers and wife - NOT his cabinet) will want him to. But the calls to resign from Congressional members, cabinet members, or donors and operatives will be too big to ignore. (Not like he’ll get younger over these next 3 months.)

But if they force him to drop out / resign they’ll make it not about the debate and say he wants to pass the torch to Kamala and he’s just not in physically great spirits etc etc…but whaddo i know…

If he had any real cognitive functioning left then suicide would be the most dignified option. That wife of his saying "You answered all the questions you were asked and were still standing! Have a wowipop!" was the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen an adult male of his age have to endure publicly, let alone in front of 100s of millions of people.

I was neutral on her till that (and reading some more). When Biden ran in 1988 he didn’t want to or think he could win. Jill made him. When he ran for reelection this time, the ONLY people he consulted was Jill and his sister. Not his staff, nor his cabinet members, nor any other member of the Democratic party. It’s pretty fucking weird, considering politics isn’t family based.

Can you change the fighter this late into a fight?

I don't care if he's Muhammad "I'm hard" Bruce Lee.

Edit: Seriously though, how does it work? Ballots have to be printed out, candidates have to be locked it at some time. Is it a state to state thing or is it the party you vote for, not the candidate? Imma hang up coz it's long distance.

His wife really must be a selfish person for seemingly encouraging this to go on. Probably loves the spotlight. How nice would it be for him to just retire away with the millions he earned as a public servant and sit on a lake

I feel like their perfect world scenario was to win with biden, avoid having kamala debate, and then pass the torch over the next year.
Now, everyone knows Biden will lose in November, and that Kamala comes across as a cunt in debates. The last thing they want is Kamala on stage with Trump because their debate will be very similar to Hillary V Trump.

If the plan is to sand bag with Biden and then have Kamala swoop in after the forth debate to be the new canidate that might reign some people back in, don't know if it will be enough, though.

Neither of the parties have had their conventions yet and officially nominated anyone so it could still be anyone from any side. If Joe drops out before the DNC then the delegates that he won during the primaries are free to vote for whoever they want.

Him and Kamala hate each other like the Obamas and Clintons hate each other right? I can imagine he'd just hand over the reigns and retire if they didn't.
I dont think thats the right comparison. The Obamas and the Clintons get on better than Obama does with Biden. Remember that in 2016 Obama backed Clinton, didn’t even consult Joe on him running or ask if he was, and straight up told him he’d have a hard time campaigning and winning. Obama didn’t endorse Biden in 2020 till after he won the nom and Biden lied saying he asked him not to. (Obama also called Bidens family dynamics “weird shit”)

Biden didn’t even want to pick Kamala as a running mate and the Obama / Clinton parallel is in sparring at the debates to being a cabinet member. Beyond that I think it resembles the Obama / Biden relationship in that its two out of sync people who seriously do not get each other.
