Showdown listen real good on occasion.

They caught shit for using backing tapes.

Reecording everything a fee years ago with samples was kinda gay but whatever.

Good band.
Never heard this, but it makes sense if it was in later years. If it's to thicken the sound? Cool, I guess. If it's to allow participants to pantomime (KISS, Motley Crue), then fuck that. I assume it's the former.

It was in the like the late 70s they started catching using "tapes" flak and that was back when motherfuckers really gave a shit. The excuse was something about changes in weather causing the string instruments to go out of tune or some such and they would play the backing tracks and raise or lower the volume(lol) depending on how the string section was holding up that night. Obviously probably a bullshit story, but I think it'd be hilarious to take a bunch of string players on the road and then still piping in the parts, which those are the parts most people will generally shrug off hearing being piped in with no string player in sight. I haven't seen many of their live vids from the 70s so I couldn't say for sure how fake/real shit would have been. Their vocals were super thick so Id' have to assume goofery there as well but like I said, I haven't done the research.

I love their song Everyone's Born to Die.

It seems to be unknown even to their fans, only 19k views on YouTube and 90k plays on Spotify.
I think it was recorded for their second album but they never put it on there and it was only made available on the 30th anniversary edition of the album in 03.
