Does he realize “Western culture” doesn’t just refer to the US but places like Britain , France, Spain, etc…the Western world didn’t just start when the colonies here were established or some shit.

What he fails to realize is the prime difference between immigrants of 1600’s vs 1700’s onwards. The Pilgrims who came over here originally were honest to god hardworkers. They negotiated, or killed, the Natives to get land and special treatment. They planted new crops and introduced new animals to the land. They built their own homes and etc etc etc….However, past the 1700’s after the introduction of the slave trade en masse in America is when a lot of our industry became built on the back of “immigrants” (but even then you could never say 100% of all work was done by slaves.) Then after we outlawed slavery it was cheap Ecuadorians.

If we’re really gonna talk about who built and “deserves” this country it goes like this

1. White people, for setting all the foundations for this country and “winning” against everyone else
2. The Natives, who we admittedly fucked over at every turn no matter what century you look at. And they were here first and came up with techniques about the land we would have never have known (because they lived here for so long.) so of course they come second.
3. Decedent's of African Slaves, because not only did they prop up the entire Souths economy but were brutally mistreated and told to fuck off after we freed them.

And finally on the absolute lowest fucking rung

4. Illegal immigrants, who do nothing for this country but provide farm or construction work. Who have no interest in changing or improving the country. Who have no interest in assimilating or developing to the country.

So no, “Immigrants” did not build this country in the way he’s talking about. Whites wouldn’t be considered “immigrants” because they didn’t “immigrate” here. (It’d probably be more colonization than anything.) Natives weren’t immigrants but here first. And blacks weren’t immigrants either but slaves.

Well it’s complicated. People forget that after we won the Revolution we had like a decade before the Constitution was drafted. We lived under the Articles of Confederation where there was basically no federal government (because it was considered too “tyrannical”) and states were considered little individual “countries”. Even when the Constitution was being drafted it was pretty unpopular due to it’s establishment of a strong federal gov. People saw it as the reestablishment of overarching, out of touch control that they got away from (i.e, the Brits ruling America from a whole sea away). Hell two states didn’t even accept the constitution until a few years later because they disagreed with it so much.

People were clamoring to make Washington the king because…well, the people are retarded. They were still opposed to the idea of a divine ruler, especially one chosen based on their lineage, but the average people saw Washington as a good person so they saw no problem giving him lifetime authority (Again, because they were retarded and didn’t understand its not the man in the position thats the shit part but the position itself)
