Watched Prometheus (2012)

It kind of ruled. Might have liked the movie better if they stuck with the designs of the first one, even the shitty tech of blinking plastic buttons and cathode ray tubes and rattling text transmissions.

I agree with what Stent said, although I find the movie strangely rewatchable, if only to watch how many head-scratching decisions are made throughout it. It also has the same problem every Alien movie has had since 1986: it's basically just Alien again.

I think it’s a mistake to try and explain the origins of the xenomorph. The discovery of the derelict ship and the eggs in the first one is so great because your mind fills in the gaps.

In Alien they have a guy literally hover his face over alien eggs for a full minute like a retard. So that was nothing new for the franchise.

I remember nothing about it other than the ending being terrible and the crew being retarded but even then I don't even remember what the ending was.
