Would you look at that… a U2 tribute band having back to back sold out shows at a venue in New York State that isn’t a Moose Lodge

Just splitting hairs because there are good cover bands out there but any and all tribute bands are just lazy assholes who cosplay as rich arrogant assholes.
To me it is not even the fact that they don't play their own music. I do understand the idea of covering music from an artist you're a big fan of. But there is something weird and foreign to me to dress up like the actual artist and cosplaying as them. It's fucking weird. Especially when they have this inflated ego like Joe does and thinks he's a real musician.

It's like me doing black face, gaining a few hundred pounds, going to an open mic and tell women that they are less than men because I just happen to like Patrice O'Neal.

Hello, EXACTLY. In my area, there are tribute bands to almost every fucking popular band in the last 40-50 years. The Nirvana one that comes around is annoying as fuck. These uninspired faggots dress the part, and even use actual Nirvana cover art for some of their gig flyers. These two posts are just an example of the idiocy at work here:

Before the stone roses reunited I went to see a Stone roses tribute band in Glasgow. They were probably better as the singer could stay in tune unlike the real one. It was a fun night
Helped massively by Glasgow crowds bring good. Was probably over 1000 people there.

Slightly different to brother Joe's U2 in a car park.
