He was unusual for a serial killer in a few ways. Most of them can't hold down a job or work in menial positions. Gacy had a hell of a work ethic.

Patrick has all the bad traits of a serial killer. Dysfunctional childhood relationship with his mother and dubious relationship with his father. Consuming obsessions (Twitter, cyberstlakers, politics). Estranged from immediate and extended family. Narcissism. You can check the box on basically all of it.

Thank God he has none of the characteristics that makes a serial killer successful. His compulsions do not outweigh his laziness. His IQ is entirely too low. He has no ability to plan anything. He has no charm or charisma to coerce anybody, anywhere.

Pat is the type of serial killer who gets caught after the first murder because he left his slobber all over a pen light.
