I wonder if Quasi could get Fatrick to sign over the rights to his books, and then stop them being published?

His first two got advances of $4500 each. That advance payment is usually whatever the publisher thinks that book will sell in a year. Since most sales are made in the first year, and those two are pretty long in the tooth, the rights to them would be worth a fraction of that. Add in the third book of the trilogy, and you could wipe half of his career off the shelves and have change left over...

Better yet, he bragged about getting a $30k payment in a tweet (that he promptly deleted - maybe someone's got that archived) at about the time he signed his three-book deal with that Tor publisher. Quasi could conceivably leverage that to end up with the rights of his last two books, and maybe right of first refusal on his next one. Ideally, you'd want right of first refusal so that if he writes a shittier book than average, you can reject it and make him shop it around.

Oh, and if Quasi's listening: make sure you send a copy of that lien and a cover letter explaining it to his agent and every other literary agent you can find in the book; it's important they know who they might be dealing with if they sign him.
