Three books with a small boutique publisher, a three book deal with Tor that utterly failed and a kick back down to the bottom of the heap forced to write on spec. Combined with a gimmicky horseshit Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter premise that the publishing world got tired of about a decade ago and I think a wakeup call is coming.

He MMMMMIGHT get some small indie publisher to put it out by bigging up his Tor experience and not showing them the bookscan numbers and IF they don't look at his social media or if they're completely Trump deranged. But I don't see it.

Science fiction has a large built in fan base that will buy whatever comes out and is on the featured table or end cap at Barnes and Noble and has a spaceship or a sexy space captain on the cover. He has ZERO credibility or experience in the historical fiction genre, the central premise has already been done better and the OMG WTF Mashup lit genre is deader than ol Chuck Dickens.

No matter what, it'll sell almost nothing. He has alienated and annoyed away all good will he has with average readers. He can't promote the thing on podcasts etc. like he used to, aside from his Twitter with 2k views per post, because people will just show his arrest record and general insanity in the comments. He hasn't appeared IN ANY non-swatting lie related media in years. Where is his network of author friends and publishing podcasters and insiders? Oh right, the last con he was at everyone mocked him and his drunken prison rants.
