On top of that, they like to pretend their generation has had the misfortune of coming of age in horrible, dark times, full of inequality, injustice and unfairness, to a degree no previous generation has ever faced. The chasm between their fabulous, really cool online lives and the boring reality of "real life" has twisted their perception, and left them unable to cope with the daily tedium of adult life. I mean, life was just as unfair when I was in my twenties, but I had the perspective of older generations, who lived through shit like the draft, to remind me and my peers that we actually had it pretty good in at least some respects. It was tougher to whine about the unfairness of having a job when my old man would start going on about getting shipped over to Korea and getting shot in the ass. And he had a point.
