Soundgarden made some wonderful music. They were the Modern CREDENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Linkin Park always sounded "off" to me. And their music videos always had the same "off" vibe... Bad CGI that wasn't SO bad it was worth mocking, but it was a cursed experience. Something about the mix of their tracks was just wrong too. It never really "popped" like say a Gorillaz, Sum41, Disturbed, or Papa Roach did.

I used to erroneously refer to those bands as "noise rock" because it sounded like annoying noises and frequencies, especially with some of the bitchy vocals. Maybe it was just our cheap headphones and speakers at the time, but this music always sounded like over-produced horseshit.

I was kinda into nu metal and always thought Linkin Park were pop. my metric was that if more than a quarter of the girls in our class liked it, it was probably pop. Says a lot that the heavier nu metal fans ended up listening to death/tech and the Linkin Park fans all gravitated towards Emo.
