They're apparently sending a warning months after being invaded, which (at least to me) begs the question why so much later? They let the Ukrainians run around in Kursk since the beginning of August apparently, is this not a sufficient enough red line?

My boss explained it to me this morning, apparently they fired a missile full of fireworks basically saying "this could have been a nuke, tread carefully because we've just proved you can do nothing about this". Given that they send people over here to kill defectors with blowdarts and ricin, it doesn't seem unlikely.

Just an interesting fact. Early rockets were always psychological warfare. The term "the rockets red glare" refers to the horror of essentially a firework being fired at the enemy. It wasn't until about world war 1 rockets did any actual damage.
