I picked a female character for GTA Online because it was a new thing at the time. She's modestly dressed, and I altered her face to be kind of tomboyish. I wanted her to look like a career criminal from a Tarantino or Guy Ritchie movie. In a thousand hours online nobody ever gave a shit it was a female character, even when I killed them over and over.
Played a few heists with an Indian crew. They kept making creepy comments about her legs and ass. They literally could have made the exact same character and jerked off to her all day, but they had to jerk off to mine.
I felt not seen, and not heard, and unsafe.
