We used to have the largest Caribbean-theme summer festivl (Caribana). But every year someone got shot (Alot of African Americans would drive up to it and bring their "take no guff" attitude)...then they lost all its sponsors, and I think a Bank took over the sponsorship. Anyway it was huge in my 20s but now, like everything else city related, I think is no longer a thing.
