Ever notice how this guy sometimes creeps into your thoughts as you go about your non-literary-criticism life? There are so many serious lessons on life one can glean simply by watching him and working hard to not ever be like him. I know I've learned a lot from his poor examples. Anyway here's a random thing that just hit me earlier.
He wasn't stunned by the (fake fakitty fake fake) 8500 word article simply because he's an egomaniac, or even because that's an unusual number and a very long magazine article. He was actually shocked to learn that even a professional writer could churn out 8500 words that are edited and acceptable to print in just a few months.
