It seems that Seth "Michael Che!?!? Guess we all know what the 'N' in 'SNL' stands for now, huh?" Simons has once again utilized his platform to tear down both Dave Chappelle and Kevin Hart, both of whom are black.
You may remember Seth as the guy that previously attacked SNL cast member and black person Michael Che, and probably Keenan Thompson as well.
I'll be honest with you guys, I used to be fully in favor of Seth and his mission. Even when he was completely discredited and exposed for his gullibility and incompetence as a journalist I said "Hey, if anything, the fact that a man like Seth was able to be tricked by fascists into believing a rather outlandish story proves that fascism is alive and well in comedy and needs to be stopped. And who better to stop it than Seth?"
But Seth doesn't seem very interested in taking down white people. In the article he also takes aim at Latinx rapist (I know, really narrowing it down) Louie CK. He insists that Louis' wealth was not his as he didn't earn it and isn't entitled to be wealthy because Seth is poor. I'm not even shitting you, that's what he says. And the problem I have with that is that he's telling a Latinx BIPOC how to spend his money, money that he managed to defy the odds and beat a racist system to earn. "Lucky Louie?" Luck didn't have a God damn thing to do with it. Louie is "lucky" every time he makes it out of a police interaction alive.
I just think Seth really missed the mark and now seems to have a vendetta against black men in comedy. I'm gonna need a yikes hard on this one, chief.
What Goes Up: Dave Chappelle, Transphobia, and "Cancel Culture"
