Some might say Ric owes a cap in hand visit to Jon Moxley's house, for making the mudshow princess a widow.

Something about pro wrestling causes old men to abandon their dignity. Maybe it's the head injuries, maybe it's the drugs, or maybe it's decades of rolling around with other almost-naked men, I dunno. Flair's shtick was cute back in the day, but he's a real asshole now.

In my experience, it's downlows or intense closet cases and self-loathing types who moreso enjoy UFC (this doesn't explain Norton, I'm aware--he's an outlier in every discussion apparently) They hate themselves for liking other men, and want to flagellate by watching a symbolic bashing by proxy. As well as getting a chance to ogle muscle men without having to experience real emotions, or being called out for it as suss, because everyone knows how straight MMA is...
On the other hand, it's out gays, unabashed curious men and women who enjoy pro-wrestling, probably due as you say to the camp elements and the melodrama, combined with the cartoonish simulated nature of the violence. Gays & women experience enough real banal abuse & violence just for existing or breathing wrong, so we don't really want more of it pumped into our eyeballs, even if it comes packaged with sweaty men.

When I lived in Orlando years ago Ric was with TNA which would tape at universal studios and after the tapings Ric and the wrestlers would go to a nearby millers ale house to drink. Ric eventually got banned because he would run up a huge tab buying everyone drinks and his card would come up declined at the end of the night. The other wrestlers would end up paying it a couple times but the place got sick of Ric and his bullshit.
