People seem to exclude the factor of massive bombing day and night for years by the U.S. and Brits. The Germans were spread out too thin to win against everyone, and had usually unreliable allies. The only impressive thing to me about the Soviets was how they set up the necessary factories far east, out of reach of the Luftwaffe.
