Remember when I had the misfortune of finding Children of the Divide in the library and felt obligated to read it? One of the characters is a xer but he messed up and referred to it as female a few times in the book. There was also a reddit post about how on the back cover synopsis it identifies her as a daughter or something. He is so bad at fake wokeness and his editor is actually retarded.

no i got to like chapter 30 or something before i gave up. it was so awkward to read it was painful having to translate "xe" a few times in each sentence.

Every now and again, his mask slips and he reveals his true nature, especially when it comes to blacks. He derided the entire black population for homophobia and transphobia (then said that he "couldn't speak" for the black UK population, implying that he COULD speak for the black US population).

And then he killed a homeless black guy for being a Trump supporter.

As a goof, I bought Starship Repo on Amazon. I didn't make it to chapter 2. It was just so tedious and tortured. He writes like someone whose formal education ended at the age of 18.

He's a shit writer because he has no real imagination or creativity. Even when crafting his own science fiction alien universe set in the far flung future, he can't help but cram it full of 20th century pop culture references and modern day politics.

There's a reason for this. In addition to being blessed with innate talent (which he was not), the best way to stimulate your imagination and creativity is to consume similar media - primarily through books. The only thing that Pat reads are Twitter posts. Any storytelling muscles that he might have ever had have atrophied so badly due to his social media addiction that he is incapable of conceiving of any universe that isn't a near exact reflection of what he sees when he scrolls.
