I’m assuming Western Digital or Seagate are the way to go. I had a WD shit out on me and lost all my country music though. It just is permanently trying to repair itself after plugging in. Any advice on that would be dope too.

Depend on how you will be using it;
If its just being used as a backup and will stay in one place then any decent WD Sata HD largest you can afford.
If you are carrying it around a lot go for an SSD or M2 in an external USB3 case.
If you want something that has redundancy get a twin enclosure that will mirror the hard drives.
In what way?
is it recognized in the bios? windows? does it have a drive letter?
SATA or SSD hard drive? Is it making a loud clicking noise or whirring grinding noise it shouldnt?
I’ll take a look when I get a chance then get back to you. It’s in Windows, says something like there’s a problem, try to repair it with the option, and it just never progresses past a certain point. It’s a regular WD external hdd not encrypted or anything like that. It does sound like it’s whirring a little loudly if I remember correctly.Depend on how you will be using it;
