Wasn't it possible on the PC port of the older GTAs to use a mod to play your own music from a local directory? Surely someone will implement the same thing here. Of course the RP mods will be the biggest like they have been in V, for better or worse. All I know is I'm not paying for this shit and will wait a few years to even bother pirating it

I could see this sort of thread being made in 2007, anticipating the release of GTA IV with people wondering about the radio. "Lol, everyone just has an MP3 player hooked up in their car now!" and then the game came out and there sure was a radio.

The radio is just a fixture of GTA, and it's expected. It's just gonna be there and not really acknowledged like usual.

They should of did a crazy morning zoo show with shock jocks doing radio spots from Ammunation. Maybe even bombings off buildings if you know what I mean. A mission chasing a radio van for prizes? absolute gold.

What if, now just hear me out, what if the PRESIDENT was in town and the radio van got in huge trouble for blocking his motorcade and they had to go to jail and your character had to break them out of jail?

That wasn't the case though in 2007. You needed a fairly new car in 2007 as auxillary jacks and Bluetooth wasn't standard in vehicles.

there would be zero monetary benefit for take-two and rockstar to pay spotify a license just to allow players to use their service in-game. people are going to buy the game anyway, so including tacked on features like that contributes nothing. there will still likely be in-game radio stations with in-world hosts, and they'll just pretend radio isn't completely dead in their universe
