That check mark I believe is what made him the delusional asshole we see today. Forever he was a nobody that believes he should be someone, way back to high school and when he got that he revealed the true know it all jerk off he is. It’s all he’s ever cared about in his life, he finally was able to say he’s better than others because of a stupid blue check. It’s his biggest accomplishment and drives him crazy it was taken away. i think maybe we should pick someone else from the SFWA to dedicate our time posting about here. Can you imagine the mental toll it would take on Pat if we just ignored him and moved on to a new friend. After we took his blue check mark and got a Quash, we won. He’s broken. I agree. That period from around 2015-2018 was the peak of his life. He got a significant advance on a 3 book deal, was writing for some major publications and he'd had a few legitimate viral tweets, with the abortion one being the biggest. He must've felt on top of the world for a while.
This is why he was so full of it when we first discovered him. He was constantly having his ego stroked by other loons on Twitter so he felt untouchable. Once he realized it was a few rascals from the subreddit that got him banned, he was determined he was going to go to war and defeat us. His ego was completely out of control due to finally being the special popular boy he'd always dreamed of being that it blinded him to the fact that it's impossible to win against hundreds of bored autists online.
Cut to 3 years later - He spent 9 months and $100K of somebody else's money desperately trying to get any kind of win against people he'd already defeated years ago ("they work for me now" "all you do is help me" etc.) according to him. It resulted in absolutely nothing of benefit to him and led to him being completely humiliated and owing the person he was trying to defeat $24K.
It's truly amazing what extreme hubris and narcissism will drive a person to do.

Also, he was this way before we met him. He had a couple article on twitchy showing how he embarrasses him often, blocks everyone, and runs away while claiming to be the winner. I remember even before this site he claimed for EVERY one troll he fought with he gained 2-3 fans that were amazed by his troll fighting skills. He proudly bragged about starting fights with strangers and prided himself on being a know-it-all asshole who blocked anyone who made him look like the idiot he really is. We’re hated by him for calling him out on his BS and he can’t stand it.
