Opie think he should be paid for O&A clips

I stumbled across his podcast and he mentioned that people on YouTube are making a shit ton of money reuploading O&A clips and he gets nothing from it. He believes that this is wrong and he should get residuals like it is a fucking TV show.

First off, you fucking idiot. You don't own the content. SiriusXM does. Secondly, O&A clips get copyright claimed which blocks any form of monetization. Beige Frequency for example had to delete the Anthony and Lady Di documentaries he made. Imagine Opie getting money from these documentaries that took more effort to create than Opie put in his career the last 15 years.

Thirdly, the reason why O&A is somewhat still relevant has nothing to do with you. People don't listen to old clips to hear you burp in the mic or take a phone call from some listener that'll repeat one of your jokes because you didn't think it got as big of a laugh the first time you told it. Matter fact, people are cutting you out from O&A clips to enjoy them fully without being derailed by your annoyances.

There are several instances of Opie and to a lesser extent, Anthony, saying that they allow clips on YouTube "for the fans". These two idiots were too lazy to do anything about it and it worked to their benefit, much like www.foundrymusic.com did for several years until Gregg wanted to get paid. I can't imagine how many fans they gained over the years just from the free Patrice, Bill and Louis clips that were on YouTube. They and the company of course would eventually look at it like they were losing money when in reality it was the cheapest positive publicity they would get throughout their entire careers.

Even to this day Opie is rehashing old videos and old topics in hope to get some pocket change because he is on the verge of being dead broke.

Because if you go back and listen to their pre “Sex for Sam” firing days, the studio was full of people making it seem like Opie killed with every line. He legitimately believed at one point that he was the funniest guy in the room. Every person in the room laughed hysterically, like a Bob and Tom episode at everything he said, Cumia included.

Going from that to a board op, phone screener broke the man.

From what I know Sirius doesn't give a shit unless you upload full 4 hour shows.

I used to upload some clips and the most I got was like $30 a month because everything would get either age restricted or would be not suitable for advertisers or copyright striked because erock played 3 seconds of music in the background.
