Anthony's mother in law, who he does impressions of, was an Opie super fan. She had the Demented World poster up, when Auntie divorced her daughter, she cut the poster in half and kept dreadlocks Opie up, with Auntie Afro in the garbage pail.
Even if Opie didn't bang Ant's mother in law, she was still obsessed with him. She was very fond of him.
Auntie's real mother Roe called Opie "hot." And the destroyer held this fact over Aunties head for many years. Hey stupid. Your mother wants Opie cawk. Maybe that's why Auntie waited until his mother was senile to do the greggshells hate.
Opie got Anthony a job, even if it was 25 dollars a week, it was a foot in the door. And Anthony maximized the opportunity that Opie gave him. Opie rewarded him by backing him up and negotiating for him, getting him multiple jobs in different cities.
Opie always shot down any criticisms of Anthony (and later Norton) from management. In the early days Opie told Dave Dickless to shut his cakehorn when he wanted Anthony to be the lottery ticket winner at Fenway to become the co-host!!! Just a regular guy. He's an everyday kinda guy. Dave Dickless dared to question Opie as to why he hired Anthony, and Opie then forever placed DAVID on the pay no mind list (or the gay zone?)
Opie always changed the show.. He moved them to Boston then back to NYC. Opie is the one who destroyed things... He called out WNEW for the gay evolution of rock ding which eventually led to WNEW switching to all talk format.
