Kinda reminds me of Synecdoche, New York. I'll see it, but I'm not getting my hopes up because Midsommar was pretty gay.

I liked Hereditary. Midsommar just didn't do anything for me. The opening is great, though.

Hereditary is far better at being a horror movie. Midsommar is less scary but more interesting to me. Yes, it’s in the vein of Wicker Man, but to me it felt fresh.
Also I would unironically like to live in their society. If they let old people live another 10-15 years and didn’t have the incest-oracle monsters I think they would really have something there.
