Anthony has an inability to consume art that isn’t surface level and made for retarded people. What is the last thing this guy enjoyed post 2000’s? Oh right, first 48 and Call of Duty. Imagine sitting him down and forcing him to try to understand anything foreign to him no matter how simple it is. He would have a stroke trying to play Mario 64 let alone anything from the last 5 years.
This guy hasn’t watched a movie since, again, the 2000’s. He only knows Casino, the Shining, Goodfellas, the Godfather, etc. Ant is also one of these retards who thinks if you don’t understand a film it’s bad. I’m not even that big of a David Lynch fan but the movies I like - I really fucking like. They’re pretty much the opposite of Marvel “turn your brain off and watch colors for 2 hours” movies. Anthony doesn’t have a working brain that can comprehend a movie as he’s watching it. And because he’s such a fucking tard he’d come away from every Lynch film thinking the message is black crime or some shit.

I don't see how anyone couldn't be emotional watching The Elephant Man. Such a heart-wrenching story and stunning visuals. Yeah, I can get some people not being into his Dune or for sure Eraserhead, but for Ant it does literally boil down to just not fucking getting it. If it's not a quotable movie about guineas or A&E crime shit, no go.
The last film I watched before the COVID lockdown bullshit was a 35mm print of Wild at Heart and that shit rocked. If that was the last movie I ever got to see on the big screen I would've been happy.

Like I wrote in the other thread, Nana is like an elderly dementia patient who watches old "MASH" and "Andy Griffith" reruns on MeTV all day. It's familiar, comfort entertainment for people who can't follow along with anything new. Nana saw five minutes of a Lynch movie, or "Twin Peaks", and became flustered by having to pay attention and follow the story, as he prefers knowing what will happen so he can hoot, giggle and parrot his favorite lines again and again. He likes "The Sopranos", but only the parts he finds "hilarious", like Junior yelling "sister's cunt" or Phil calling Vito a faggot. Everything is ironically hilarious to the drunken old fruit, and he can't even conceive of why anyone would want to watch anything that requires even a second's worth of thought.

Literally every midwit I've ever encountered. If it doesn't follow a straightforward plot, or doesn't spoon-feed them answers, it fries their brains and makes them resent it. Not even trying to sound pretentious, but when you write off things that aren't your usual run-of-the-mill Nana approved Christopher Nolan cinema expeditions, then you're just encouraging lack of creativity in any art medium.

Nana can't even conceive of creating something that wasn't about profitability. To Nana, music is something you hoot, ponce, prance and sashay around to in order to grab everyone's attention at the karaoke bar. It's all a big, campy joke, stuff he can mug to. None of it means anything to him in any substantive way. Movies and TV are all about quotable lines and references. He doesn't want to feel anything, or be baffled, or challenged to think in any way, he just wants hilarious high spots to giggle and vamp to. He only understands art on the most base, crude level, and can't understand why anyone would create anything that wasn't geared to those crass, lowbrow sensibilities.
