I would like to postulate the following:
Joe is not a good guitar player. If he was, he would not need all this crap.
I'm a big fan of the band Social Distortion. The lead guitar player, Mike Ness has ONE pedal and a 50 watt Amp. He creates a variety of great tones using specific guitars and adjusting the volume and tone controls on the guitar.
Joe? He needs a stereo output into 2 amps in a custom made cabinet. What the fuck is this? Did he not get enough attention as a child? He tries to impress, literal strangers by showing off his setup and telling everyone he's now playing acoustic gigs on cruise ships. If he was the great guitar player he thinks he is, he wouldn't need dozens of pedals and multi-effect units to get his unique sound.
........ Oh wait ...... He doesn't have a unique sound. He just copies and replicates what other people do.
