Most un-underrated band

The Bangles or maybe Tears For Fears. There’s probably a shitload of 80s bands that fit the description.
Gonna call the Bangles underrated as they were way more than what most know em for. They deserved more. But then again either they or their handlers thought otherwise.

Seriously, delete Manic Monday and Egyptian from Different Light and you have a better album.

Days of The New are one of the best bands ever(really just one dude) who it seems like most people are never going to hear his best work. The shit he's done for his probably never to be released album is insane: Take What I Want, Dope Road, More Than a Dream, etc , etc, etc. Insane genius.

I think a lot of people either know them from the episode of Intervention that Travis Meeks was on or consider them a one hit wonder because Touch, Peel and Stand was on the radio all the time, which is a shame.

Yeah it's a huge shame. Being anywhere near that guy is just eerie and...I don't know how to describe it. I don't know if I ever would have gotten as into them as I am if by chance this old buddy of mine who isn't as much of a music guy told me his older brother had some leaked shit. He sent it to me and I couldn't believe it. For years it was kept of the internet but I think in the last couple it's all become pretty easy to find, not getting deleted from youtube and shit. Just a dark one man symphonic mess. Dude has 5 or 6 guitars lined up on stage, all tuned differently. I got to talk to him briefly because this dude I knew was a roadie from years ago that knew him. My friends and I were partying with Mike Tyson at this bar and I was like I gotta leave for this concert and they thought I was nuts. Then I said it was DOTN and the roadie dude that was with us was like "oh shit I know Travis from when I was working for Metallica" so he came to the show too and introduced me. I didn't know how to behave, guy is intimidating as fuck even though he was trying to be friendly, having a cocktail and shit. Roadie dude introduced us and then just walked off lol. Unfortunately he's had more even worse problems in the years since, hasn't been touring since like 2011. Supposedly he's "doing better" but how the fuck can you really know. There was a gofundme a couple years ago to help him out but we never really knew if it was legit and kinda seemed like someone had made it with his name and such. He's not old, that first album he was only 17, so hopefully he's not completely gone because those shows and his songs are something else man.

Ween has never gotten their due.
I don't feel like that is true. Ween, Melvins and Mr. Bungle get nothing but praise. Whether they should have been bigger is up for debate. These bands get nothing but praise from fans, critics and fellow musicians. Maybe they should have been on the level of success as Primus, but I can't imagine a larger crowd "getting" those bands much more than they did. Primus doesn't playfully antagonize like the bands I named do.

Listening back to some 90s O&A on Rock of NY, they played this many a morning. Didn’t realise it was ever so popular a song until I came across that.

It really was a shame, though. He was a unique frontman, with an emotional raw voice and charisma to burn.

The documentary Letters From A Porcupine is heartbreaking in hindsight. And ‘Toes Across The Floor’ is still one of my favourite alternative songs.

His loss still isn’t quite as monumental, shocking and sad as that of Richey Edwards, though. Being declared dead in absentia is just so much worse, harder to grieve. He could even still be out there somewhere, for all we know.
