I agree with OP except for Kindergarten Cop kind of situations, which is what I experienced as a young boy.
Little boys need to be raised and guided by men. Unfortunately they only let the most effeminate queers be male teachers so it would require a total realignment of the education system to make it viable. When I was in school there were still a few hard ass old dudes around but I imagine they were probably the last generation.

When I was 8 or 9 we could hear the one male teacher in the school from the other end of the school shouting at kids. He was old enough to have been able to hit kids in previous years. It was scary shit as a kid. As a adult it's pretty hard to not think it was pathetic for a 60+ year old man to be shouting at ten year olds.
The only other male teacher was the PE guy who all the girls had a crush on which is equally fucking weird situation to want.

I once had a teacher who used to be in the military and he was always screaming at us. We were the first class he ever taught, apparently he became super chill after our class.

The most chilled out, beloved teacher at my school was friends with my uncle and he told me why he was so calm all the time. Early in his teaching career, back when teachers would throw chairs against the wall and flip out like drill sergeants to keep kids in line, some kid was giving him shit so he threw the blackboard eraser meaning for it to come close enough to scare him but not hit him and it beaned the kid. He felt so terrible about it he just became like monk-like.
