IMO Lou Reed was just a troll who liked fucking with people. I think everything he did was a goof, and lots of people took it seriously. Like that thing he did with Metallica. He told them he wanted to do a serious collaboration, then he just muttered and wheezed a bunch of complete, balls-out retarded shit over the music, then waited to see what they'd do.
