Nu metal killed guitar music. There was a brief strokes/Libertines led boom over in the UK afterwards but still couldn't really get rid of the Free taste of that shit

It feels like there’s an indie sleaze nu-Mod revival coming in Britain.

Pete Doherty just dropped a new track after years in obscurity, sounds like his old stuff and it’s doing numbers.

QOTSA was gonna open? Oof. And to think, not that long ago, they were cool enough to have this be their opening song:

‘If I Had A Tail’ is pfg, very sexy song. Homme & QOTSA excel at slinky music that’s equally enticing or lulling and sinister.

Would be an ideal track for underscoring a movie scene in an upscale exclusive gentleman’s club or a speakeasy/cabaret.

Anything he's done since the 1st babyshambles album and one or two tracks on the second isnt for me.

Glad that fat Doherty is a thing in 2025 though.

I was refering to THE SKATT BROS song they were walking out to my brotha. They pumped up those guys' numbers more than even Cumia did.

I like that when they did the thing with Jay Z they were all stoked to meet him and he wanted nothing to do with them and treated them like shit.

Meanwhile, Sum 41 did that rock remix with Ludacris and that was far better than the whole Jay Z/LP remix album. Also, Ludacris is a great guy I hear, not an uppity cunt like Jay.

As for this tour, I have no idea what they expected. She's not a bad singer but she's not distinct like Chester. Yes, the band wasn't ever all that good, but a bands identity is its SOUND, and Chester's voice was a very big part of that.

That all being said, considering all the controversy and criticisms being lobbied against everyone in the band - not just her - I would call this more embarrassing than what happened to me in 97. They're at least an American band, had very high expectations, but seem to be failing every one of them.

I’m still shocked they thought they could play places like Dodger Stadium with a new singer - if the new album was a huge hit like AC/DC when they put out back in black which was their first with a new singer it’s one thing but this should have been amphitheaters in the summer at the most or just festival dates since those will get big crowds not just based on one group.

Quite a few older bands and singers saw what Taylor Swift made with the Eras tour and thought that’s the money bands can expect post Covid. No, only Taylor Swift can do that because she is the leader of a females only cult.

Katy Perry is a great example of this - her recent album was a huge flop and her “comeback” single was so bad they later had to act like the song was meant to be a joke. They say her European shows are selling but not selling many tickets in the US. Same with Jennifer Lopez cancelling a whole tour not too long ago. I read even AC/DC who haven’t toured in close to a decade are having trouble selling tickets to their latest stadium tour.

Hopefully that translates to the ticket prices dropping in Vegas. I want to go but I can't rationalize paying $1000 for the ball and chain and I go to and not even have good seats. It's one of those that "sold out" the day it went on sale and dumped all the tickets to Stubhub. Biggest fees I've ever seen, like $140 on top of the ticket price. F/Ns. I looked at some other cities and the tickets are way less. If one had the time, you could save money flying somewhere else, pay for hotel/travel etc for less than going to the show here.

Yeah that’s what I hope happens because these Ticketmaster / live nation companies are just raping people with their bullshit fees. They don’t even print physical tickets anymore yet are more expensive than ever. Everything goes right to a third party with even more fees. I heard a radio host talking about getting 3 tickets for a giants or jets game (can’t remember, they both were awful) this season real cheap on a third party site since nobody wanted them and the 3 tickets with fees were still cheaper than parking which now it’s like 50 - 60 bucks some places.

I’ve seen AC/DC twice and both were arenas - the football stadium idea was a step too far

I was watching a video about scalpers, and it’s cheaper to go to a concert outside of the US. Those extra charges are crazy that they tack on. This Sears by me had a Ticketmaster inside that you could walk up and buy a ticket. This was 80-90s, those days of camping for tickets are long gone
