Just relistened to the Blind Stevie saga for the first time in years. He really should’ve shot up sirius. I actually felt really bad for him

99% of interns on the show basically would leave hating O&A, hating radio, hating Sirius, and hating the entertainment industry in general. Maybe a third of the interns were either fired or quit. Sirius multiple times had management warn O&A about internships. The show was constantly rotating which producer managed the interns. Famously Erock was chosen as a manager once and was told by management that his job was on the line if anything bad happened. Sirius also warned O&A against allowing interns to interact with any guests because the producers had been buying the interns porn stars and strippers as prostitutes and it become widely known.
Eventually the show would basically no longer have internships. O&A decided to bring internships back one last time with Ladi Di which proved to be one of the best bits of all time. Ladi Di's internship almost got them suspended by Sirius and was likely one of the things that management thought of when Anthony did his 'scaffolding' photography adventure.

It is funny to see that they all interns eventually ended up hating the show. Even the actual employees like Danny and Ben Sparks ended up hating the show. It really must have been a toxic environment.

They had interns picking up shit from toilets. One got two gallons of vomit in his mouth to become an intern. They ruined one's shoes and he complained to management. They would make them do bits that they knew would bomb then rip on them on the air endlessly. They would dox them live on air and read out information about them (which is how the J-J-J-Julia song was discovered). Being an intern was like being captured in the 'Nam.
Crazy part is that most of these interns were not even fans of the show outside of Duffy or Sam. Almost none of them even got the references of the show or the various movies or TV shows that the sound drops took from. Sam would basically hire interns who looked like easy marks instead of competent interns or interns who were familiar with the show.

Yeah most of the interns were total duds but the stevie saga was interesting because it really exposed how insecure they all were. Why bully an ugly blind kid that’s there to work for free? It went way beyond just trashing him for fun. I hope stevie is doing well these days. But really David was the one who got away. The fact that he never got into radio or even podcasts is one of the biggest tragedies of the show.
