A lot of it is definitely laundered or paid for by his publicity firm or group to just promote him endlessly. You throw in a few $10k donations to your charity drive to legitimize it and use it to advertise the drive. "See....look at all the support. Someone gave $10K. You can't give even $100? Or $50?".
