The Abyss Director's Cut is literally the same 'gay earth' message as Avatar. You have a bunch of White Navy SEALs trying to blow up alien technology with nukes. But the blue ugly aliens instead win the world over with a message of peace. And then you have the good 'humans' that are the mystery meat Hollywood cast with the one nigger, one female, one fag character, and so on.

The ending of The Abyss Director's Cut is actually hilarious and sends the wrong message. The aliens literally threaten to kill all of humanity and basically hold earth hostage. Rather than learn to live in peace humanity now has to deal with a powerful alien threat.

Cameron did not write True Lies though. He bought the remake rights for the original that was an obscure French comedy film. Pretty much every piece of dark humor or action from True Lies is just a reshoot in English with more famous actors and actresses. And Alien was Dan O'Bannon and HR Gieger. Cameron just took the first film and turned it into a corny action movie where a little girl survives for a month alone against like 100 aliens. Even Titanic is a scene for scene ripoff of A Night to Remember and is barely original.

Cameron is like Michael Bay. He can do amazing action and directing. But cannot write anything. Every character in Titanic is written from the perspective of a 13-year-old girl's understanding of the world. Rich people bad. Poor people good. Arranged marriage to millionaire bad. Sex with young hot closeted twink good. T2 and Aliens are the same film with the same story of the female protagonist saving some stupid kid from a monster.

Cameron needs someone to bring him good scripts and then he can make great films. When these guys like Ridley Scott, John McTiernan, or James Cameron get a bad script they make bad films. A good script gets you stuff like Die Hard, Predator, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down.

Agreed. Michael Bay has made 3 good movies in my opinion. Bad Boys 1 and 2 and easily his best, The Rock. All of them were good because of the storylines, scripts and performances and none because of his ADHD, commercial, jump cut style of directing. Cameron may just be a posher version

I don't mind titanic considering it's such a gigantic film. I saw it at a 14 year olds birthday party. We were all boys which was a bit weird. It it's got the love story for the gals and a disaster movie element for the boys. Compared to newer films it's fucking art.

Yeah, it's not a bad film. I was a stroppy 14 year old, the girl I went with wasn't letting me pull her or even fondle her a bit. I thought "I know how this ends, the ship sinks" so I walked out and left her there like a knob before they even hit the iceberg. Saw the film a few years later and didn't hate it.

The story of Titanic is terrible as far as the romance plot goes. And the characters are all loathsome to the point where I wish that they all died. But the special effects and epic scale are likely unmatched. The scene where the captain accepts his fate and goes into the pilot house and the water smashes through the glass is one of the most incredible scenes ever in a movie. Brutal.
