Is Christian music good?

I know some Church going types and they genuinely like Christian music, they go to concerts and listen to it on their Spotify's

It all sounds kind of phony and gay to me, I love my lord and savior but the whole
" JEEEEESUUUUUS, JEEEEEESUUUUS, YOU ARE MY SAAAAAAAAAAAAVIOOOOR, YEEEEEAAAAAAAH! "
Seems very disingenuous, soulless mad-lib lyric cash grabs preying on middle class suburban white people who attend mega churches.

But maybe I'm wrong and just don't have enough of the holy spirit in my soul

No, at least not if you're talking about Christian pop/rock/rap music. It's because they're taking something that's supposed to be sacred and making it profane. It would be like getting a tramp stamp of a fresco from the Sistine Chapel or writing a Bible quote on a bathroom stall. Not the correct context. The closest you'll get to good Christian pop music is old school coutry like Hank Williams' "I Saw The Light" or old gospel music. I'll give the protestants some credit for that. "CCM" though is all faggoty nonsense. Wouldn't be surprised if it was deliberately engineered to turn people away from the true Faith.

Now if you're talking about Gregorian or Orthodox chant or (certain kinds) of choir music, that is good, actually beautiful music. That's because it's using God given vocal abilities to aspire towards Heaven instead of trying to make God conform to corny worldly modern day music trends. It also belongs in a church or a cathedral, so there's a context to it. And that's why the protestant nondenominational rock band churches with the drum set on the stage are so cringey. They're treating something that's supposed to be sacred in an irreverent, douchey manner.

Old gospel is okay. Modern Christian music is pure crap. They also record it all wrong so it sounds like you have tin speakers.

If you’re defining Christian music by modern pop music, it’s probably bad.

If you’re judging it by Mozart and Christian composers, it’s profoundly beautiful.

Thousands of churches are being burned to ashes across Europe every year and it’s not covered in the news and the arsonists don’t face repercussions and in fact get rewarded for doing it.

Tear down everything beautiful and righteous and put “progressive” modern evil in its place, it’s the same with music.

An ethnically homogeneous Christian society that everyone here hates for some reason:

Diverse melting pot progressive society that @JebJoh loves that makes America “stronger”

Are you afraid of everything that exists in the real world? Is this why you need to numb your skull with drugs and a childish religion? On the bright side, you’ll never reproduce so 30 years from now the line ends.

Marketa Irglova put out an album some years back called Muna that I love.
"Marketa said the album is a document of spiritual searching, an album of saints, angels and psalms."
I've literally never heard another person ever bring it up, I just stumbled upon it when it was released.

I'm not religious but it has some really beautiful lyrics.

I'd rather not.

I like plenty of songs about God and I like a fair few bands that identify as Christian, but if you're talking about something like Cartman's Christian band then no.

I like this song a lot. I have it on vinyl and all the lyrics are written like "heab'n" instead of "heaven" because he's black.
