In regards to my recent Christposting, I know it annoys some people and I’d like to apologise

What does annoy me is seeing it here because I spent two years of my life attending Daily Mass, praying, mediating on the life and death of Christ and considering the priesthood. You would not have found me on a website like this during this time. Avoiding sin means avoiding the near occasion of sin and practicing Custody of the Senses. You should completely abandon secular pursuits if you're serious and certainly never come to a website like this. You can't be a Christian and a shitposter. And the only reason why it bothers me is because I actually walked the walk so when I see others just talking the talk it burns me up a little. You're a good guy, though. I would say I’m baptist. It seems self evident to me that it’s rather simple, we get our authority from the bible and Jesus. Not from the church. Jesus is explicit in saying to only call God Father and to confess only to Him.

With that in mind, I’m not sure why priests are so eager and giddy to hear confession and to call themselves father. Why do they worship graven images and attribute His works to saints?

God has no grand children. We are all His children and have our own relationship with Him. The grand infrastructure and armies of clergy is putting a barrier between that.

I am happy to discuss it in depth privately and I am open to hearing why I’m wrong.

I have been to many grand cathedrals and I have been to the Vatican. I knew in my bones the grandness and opulence was distinctly unchristlike. I just knew it. The Vatican and their investment bank profiteering from diamond mines and all sorts of (((unethical))) financial fuckery is not right. Priests and clergy clad in fine silk robes and jewels is not the Jesus I know and love. I get my teaching from the bible and mentors.

Sounds like my son. I've been lurking for a while now, and have always noticed that you have a Christlike quality. Best wishes to you. I grew up Catholic and sometimes feel bad that I'm not more like my son but I try not to beat myself up about it. At least it's less pressure on me now that he's lost interest in the priesthood.
