City bikes are essentially the equivalent of mosquitos: Any use they have is so insignificant, that their existence would literally do nothing to the city, if they were all gone tomorrow.

The rise of fast food delivery apps probably saw an uptick in usefulness of bikes, but still, theres nothing urgent about a fat lady getting a burrito so they have no excuse to be such pieces of shit.
