I found Sal pretty annoying on the show and he never really added anything other than being shitty (the angry panda bit was good), but I remember Opie and especially Anthony getting really annoyed and insecure that he had tastes in things that were a little more out of the box and actually seemed to have a genuine interest in music and stuff beyond "YO Erock, play that big top 40 radio hit from that band from the 90s" .
He was a bit of a pretentious hipster fag, but no more than someone like Troy was and at least he was in his 20s at the time and not a middle aged man like Troy. At least he wasn't into wrestling and 80s Saturday morning cartoons as a grown man. Good fa him.
