I don't know if it would be more or less pathetic for this guy to be lying about this for attention. How do you not do regular backups or have some form of version control on your work? Don't these people use software that does version tracking automatically and backs up to the cloud? Even if you prefer to use text files or whatever, it is not that hard to learn how to use git or rsync, especially considering that this is your fucking job.

I have a batch file that runs weekly that copies the contents of Downloads\Documents to my archive server and splits it up by filetype. I have a cronjob that archives my youtube playlists in case some fucker deletes it before I watch it. It fills up very quickly with shit I don't end up keeping.

Right, he's not even claiming that he lost his device that had unbacked up content on it, which is plausible. He's just saying that the file vanished, which doesn't happen. Even if the program crashed before you could save it, again, that would only cause you to lose recent changes. Fucking retarded lying loser.
