I know we're all fans of Genesis during the Ray Wilson era but where we at with the ongoing Genesis tour

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual.

But holee shit, I saw some YouTube video of a live show and it's just sad seeing Phil Collins "performing". I can't believe people are paying to see this. Is Phil completely broke and needs the cash or something?

I haven't been on most of the day, so first off, thank you for the acknowledgment.

Second, this wrecks me to see. I joke about him for the amusement of the Farms and my own self deprecation, but I've nary heard one bad thing about Phil, ever. Tony and Mike never badmouthed him, and people I've met in the industry here have told me he's a very humble bloke.

Time is limited, and nothing is guaranteed, fellas. Live, love, eat, play, shag, and Patpost till your heart's content as long as you don't hurt anyone (the Cumia's and Pat excluded).

The crews at arenas and venues in Europe have worked all around the country, and I don't fucking ask them to tell me these things, but they just do because I was in the band. It's the usual spiel nearly every time: Tony was aloof, Mike was cordial, Phil was very friendly. It rarely strays from that general consensus.

I'm curious, what experiences have you heard? I've never had a fan tell me anything, I think they'd feel awkward about it.

Like I've said before, I didn't really get deep into the band until I first tried out. Familiar with them, yes. I had an album or two like "Selling England By The Pound" and "Trick of The Tail" as a younger lad, finding what I liked musically, but I never followed them fervently or anything.

This doesn't surprise me to hear though.

You have to understand, I was hearing nothing but positive words about the man from two of his closest, long term friends (minus one exchange that I will never repeat) while I worked with them. Could've been an "absence makes the heart grow fonder" type behavior, or a CYA thing. And as for the kind words from crewmen, I know I bust my ass to show my appreciation to those kind of people, because it ensures a smooth show then and in the future. I took it as it was.

Now personally, i choose to never read tabloids or seek out rumours about my peers. If I ever hear something, and I'm not sworn to secrecy (ahem), I'll happily share it with the Brothermen, but somehow I've been ignorant of this about Phil. I have a lot to learn about that, I guess.

Still, seeing him in that state, I don't wish that on anyone. If I ended up like that, where I couldn't hold a guitar, or struggle to sing, I would rather be dead and gone.
