Not a bad band in the beginning, they actually were Linda Ronstatdt's backup band for awhile.
Great songwriters, but being overplayed to death went to their heads and they "Hell Freezes Over" was along the lines of when Fleetwood Mac had the "comeback" album during that same time.

When I was in high school I made a video in broadcasting class that starts with me waking up to the alarm playing The Eagles and a I slam the alarm clock. Then I get in the car to drive to school "you're listening to 97.1 The Eagle, here's the house band(we actually had that station and they did that all the time) and I turn the station furiously, then I'm at the store and every CD is The Eagles. There were a few more scenes I'm forgetting where I'm pelted with these fags, then it ends with me sitting in a restaurant and this chick comes up and starts trying to make time with me and I'm down til she's like "I'm gonna put on some music" and walks to the juke box "like, do you like The Eagles?" You'd better believe my face dropped and that bitch didn't get to make ANY TIME!
