This was one of Howard's last great moments in the public eye before the movie, then it was all downhill.
He starts taking digs at the nigger band, when Kevin Eubanks says something back and the crowd cheers, Howard makes this "yeeeeeeesh" face to Robin in the crowd.
This appearance was packed with Jackie and Fred bits like bringing out the other books on the best seller list, and trashing them. "As you can see on the back of Ellen's book, she has her head crouched in shame."
Then he starts in with the strippers/porn stars, who are probably like 55 and leather skinned now. Jay Leno tried to be a good sport through the whole thing, but he had a meltdown during the lesbian stuff to the point where he walked off his own show, but they cut it all out so it looked like Jay was there the entire time. They estimated after it aired that about an hour of awkward stuff was cut from the airing.
Then he completely ruins Siskel and Ebert's appearance that dumb moms used to let their kids stay up to watch by making the audience holler at the bitches and interrupting every few minutes. I was amazed they didn't just have him leave after his appearance, they do it all the time with other people.
After this happened, there was a big on-air argument where Leno promised Stern he could air the uncensored tape because he claimed "it didn't exist." Howard had a mole at NBC who got him the full live to tape version immediately as he was leaving the NBC building. So when Leno found out he had the tape, he backpeddled and said they couldn't air it and sent E! a cease & desist. Howard went on Leno a couple times for the movie and then once for Son of the Beach, but I think that was what started their feud.
Deep down, Howard hated every other talk show host. Which made for some great humor, attacking Kathie Lee and Rosie Odonnell, even at Sirius before he got the AGT show he was in denial ranting about how women viewers hate his guts because he's "gross" you could practically hear him plotting his new image as he figured out people didn't like him.
The guy in this video was the guy we all thought would stand up against the woke shit. But we forgot that he was a you know what. We knew he was before we took him in. Well, half italian anyway.
