I remember his movie How to Get a Head in Advertising and it being weird. Is Withnail & I worth watching?
Yeah, Withnail is hilarious. I didn't really enjoy Advertising but Withnail and I is so funny, it's based on his days as a struggling young alcoholic actor living in squalor in London in the 60s. Richard E Grant plays "Withnail" who is based on Robinson's old friend Viv McKerril who was a talented guy but a total drunk who didn't end well.

Not sure how many of you fellas get exposed to classic rock FM stations these days but "Money for nothing" by Dire Straits is one of "FAGGOT"s last refuges. I always make sure to pay attention whenever it comes on and always find it refreshing that it hasn't been altered.

Watch Dude Where's My Car. The tranny scenes are surreal. Especially the FtM one at the end, pointing out the absurdity of a woman acting masculine. "How you doing, fella!"

i remember this scene freaking me out. sms is still the man

I think the 90s was a based decade in general, and then once 9/11 happened the psyche of the West went into the shitter.

But, really, it was a time when things weren't especially over-sexualized - like, not every female musician was a total whore, and not many of the sitcoms/shows were explicitly filthy - but you could pretty much speak your mind and use a lot of off colour language like in the clip you showed. Mobile phones existed but not everybody had one, and people weren't obsessed with them.

Before podcasts people used to get drunk on tv shows and talk into the night with no time limit. People would be too self aware these days but it's great looking back
