Yeah, Banjo & Kazooie, who had their own game exclusively released for the N64 in 1998.

I think the big celebration is that the characters are owned by Microsoft, and Super Smash Bros is obviously a Nintendo game, so there's some sort of licensing deal between the two companies.

At least I think that's what happened there. I would look into it, but even I have too much dignity to do that.
