A comedian with tons of confidence after fucking niki in the back seat of the stang, going on podcasts left and roight, writing Op-ed for the huff post, he had that FABULOUS blue checkmark which gave his witty takes credulity as a firebrand, child. His youtube rants were going to go viral and get him another checkmark.

Heck, just look at the enthusiasm at this 36 year olds face, pretty healthy, 60 lbs lighter ready to grab the world by the balls:

Now he posts pictures of his cat and grandma memes for 10 likes on instagram, spends all day reporting/texting cyberstakers, getting black out drunk;
he doesnt even have the effort to cook anymore, he just gets shitty indian takeout and gets more drunk.
No interaction with other geeks besides the "im so sorry" crew, people just dont want to be around his bullshit.
This is his sad, fat, life.

I think it’s a mix of things, at one time Pat was going places, he had a book deal, was hosting at local comedy clubs, sort of running marathons etc and had friends / colleagues. I believe most of his contacts just saw him as a contact because the old “it’s all about who you know” and you never know who is going to make it. Even though he was awkward and weird people tolerated him since he on paper was “somebody”. Then a mixture of getting a blue check mark and Trump getting elected turned him into the awful person we see today. The check gave him a massive undeserved ego that would dismiss any voice that didn’t agree with him as stupid. Tweeting became his entire life as he believed that check finally made him one of “the important people” to which he still believes today. This type of behavior is not only negative but also unprofessional as he would brag about things like how much money he makes and that he’s a know it all on expert on everything - two things nobody likes.

With each over dramatic tweet and getting into abusive fights with anyone on a daily basis many in his life checked out. Nobody wants to be around someone like Patrick because he’s an awful person that believes he’s the greatest to ever live. He focused everything on tweeting instead of his career and personal life which now finds him virtually unemployable and sitting alone nightly at a bar.

All we did was show everyone he’s a terrible person that pretends he’s one of the good ones. Every time he virtual signals we show he’s a hypocrite or big fat liar. Now he’s a certified lol cow with zero self awareness to how so many point and laugh at his stupid actions on social media. His behavior brought this on himself and he’s the only one to blame. Plus he sure is fat.

Like a true boomer he doesn’t even understand the point of an unboxing video. You only do an unboxing for something never seen, if you’ve already shown the cover artwork you’re not revealing anything. He just heard these were trending not realizing he’s just showing copies of a PAPERBACK book. For example people do unboxing videos for special music releases and while the cover has been seen you show what’s inside the album (color prints / design) and if the vinyl is a special color / limited pressing, etc and any other stuff that comes with it (guitar pics, stickers, posters, etc) but here’s dumb Pat showing everyone his book has…pages.

Obviously it's who-gives-a-shit. But if someone was late to social media I wouldn't forgive them acting like a teenager and filming every mundane aspect of their life for a week or two.

I think it probably WAS Twitter that screwed him up. That and the fact that your creativity takes a nose dive at 35. He wants to be writer, sure. To be able to say he's writer. That he has a six figure book deal. That he's one of the "good sci-fi authors" who understands science and that it pays his mortgage etc etc. But in fact, all he's motivated to do is piss his life away having pointless arguments on the internet.

People vandalise their own success. Maybe deep down Pat always knew he could never win against a group of relentless, anonymous, autistic, online enemies. But, as long as they keep coming at him, he'll always have an excuse not to write that next book, not come up with that next epic viral tweet, not to fuck his I-totally-am-still-attracted-to wife.

Personally, I think Pat should become a teacher. He has that didactic urge. Although he's never going to publish that "How I fought the trolls and won, a guide to dealing with online enemies in the best way possible" guide to others, there probably are community colleges that would let him teach creative writing classes based on having a few things on Amazon. He can pontificate, bloviate to an audience, pretend that his political opinions ARE important to writing because sci-fi is all about politics actually.

I get what you mean. If he was just some dork who wrote a couple of books that got published then you could almost feel happy for him. But we're through the looking-glass here. We know what a vicious and mental cunt he is and how awful his essentially self-published books are. So we mock him.

At the risk of doxxing myself, my grandfather was a moderately successful author in his lifetime. He had his fingers in a few pies but he wrote a few books in his middle-aged years which sold very well in the UK for a while. He wasn't anything like a household name but has a Wikipedia page and enjoyed a lucrative and laid back existence in his time (i.e. way better than Fat.) Point is I know about those publisher's boxes they send authors. 30-40 copies each. My grandpa used to give them gratis to family and friends and the odd reviewer. That's what they're for. Fat rushed out to hand sell them to fellow tosspots in the bar. Desperate, pathetic and sad!

No. Patrick drove them away because this is the person he is at his core. He's lazy, unmotivated, low IQ, low charisma, low confidence, and physically repulsive. He had some success but the ceiling was always there and it was only a matter of time before his lack of talent and charm exposed his biggest character flaws.

At absolute best, the sub could have only accelerated this, and even so, it's only because he just can't let it go. People don't unfollow him because of the trolls, they unfollow because their timelines are filled with him spamming "cyber stlaker, block and report."
