He's considered one of the greatest ever for two reasons; (1) self-promotion, and (2) his businesses. Ultimately it's nig nogs and self-loathing white people worshipping rich nig nogs with swag, and the record labels push this for $$$ y'alll. It's a similar thing to 50 Cent, or Kanye West.

Although I've never cared for Kanye West, I can acknowledge he has talent. However, other than a couple of songs, both 50 Cent and Jay-Z fucking suck. They're on the same level of shit as Sean Combs. The best things I can say about these three is they're business-savvy, they have the right connections, and they're charismatic enough to sell their shit music.
